Children's Theater Program

Classes in theater and dramatic skills

Technique, expression, confidence, hard work, joy

We treat each child as a unique human being with talent, intelligence and emotional depth. In our classes the special qualities of aspiration, inspiration and hard work come alive. Children stretch themselves to do high level work and have great pleasure in the process.

We have a unique opportunity in our company to open this art to children because we have an active Georgian theater company with our professional theater artists also teaching the theater classes. Our program is designed by our theater director Lia Bakhturidze Sirelson and taught by professional actresses Tsutsa Kapanadze and Khatuna Ioseliani.

Children's Theater

Our goal is two-fold: to train children in dramatic skills as a study in traditional Georgian theater and to work with children to explore themselves and life around them through the medium of acting exercises and recitation of Georgian poetry, taking dramatic roles and working with other children.

Classes are taught in a group with a lot of individual attention and group interaction. Classes include speech exercises and classic poems, discussions about meaning and context, stage movement, work with Georgian folk dramas and preparation for performance. We plan two staged performances each year of traditional Georgian plays as well as events in our studio and community celebrations.
